Hardcover. Very good book in a good- DJ. Text is clean & unmarked. Sound binding. DJ shows moderate wear with rubbing of spine edges & a one-inch tear along top edge in back.
Softcover. Good+ Text is clean & tight & unmarked. Moderate shelf wear with mild creasing of lower corner front cover + slight edge wear & small dent on front. Single crease in spine.
Hardcover. Very good book in a very good DJ. Rare pencil marks, otherwise clean & tight. Superficial creasing to top corner of ffep. Mild shelf/edge wear to DJ with slight scuffing on front.
Hardcover. Fair+/Good- Tears across pp 15 & 17 with detachment of bottom third of both pages from the binding. The text is otherwise clean & unmarked. Prev owner's name written on ffep. Small areas of dampstain to superior text block & fore-edge—does not affect text but there is a small amount of "bleeding" of red onto page edges. Heavy rubbing of spine with loss of some gilt lettering. 2 or 3 small spots of dampstain on front cover. Creasing to top & bottom edge of back cover.
Hardcover. Fair. 1854 Edition. Decorative leather spine/gilt lettering with gray cloth on boards. Text is free of marks, underlining, highlighting. Moisture staining of lower corner of ffep through p. 33. Cracking along spine front & back; front & back hinges slightly weakened, but binding remains sound. Foxing/brown spots scattered throughout. Spotting/wear to cover front & back. Bumping/curling of cover corners & front lateral edge. No DJ.
