Wax residue inside front cover & on ffep; open & closed tears in ffep (please see photo); personal notes inside front cover (dated 1887) & rear of ffep (dated 1889). Splitting of front hinge, binding is otherwise sound. Text is unmarked; tanned with age. Bowing of boards. Significant wear to board edges & corners. No DJ. Decorative boards & spine; gilt lettering on front & spine.
