"Hidden Treasures" Bird Search
HIS CREATION in partnership with PurJoy Bookshop invites you to participate in our First Annual "Hidden Treasures" Bird Search Friday, May 16 at 6:00 P.M. to Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. your local time.
See how many different species of birds you can find within 24 hours!
This is a great opportunity to explore Christ’s creation with your spouse, children, or friends. See how many different species of birds you can find within 24 hours! Participation in our Hidden Treasures Bird Search is meant for all—those folks who have difficulty distinguishing between a robin and a cardinal, as well as experienced birders. We just want to encourage individuals and families to get out in creation and—with bird book in hand—discover some of the avian wonders Jesus has made. I guess that I expect we will all "learn as we go."
Prizes will be provided by PurJoy Bookshop for top winners in each category.

The rules are simple and basically follow the American Birding Association’s rules for their “Big Day” Competition http://listing.aba.org/big-day-count-rules/
• Make a list of all the species of birds you see or hear within 24 hours. You don't need to know the scientific names—-common names are welcome.
• Observe within one geographic area of North America. We encourage those from other parts of the world to join us in searching for birds in their own country, but prizes must be limited to North American contestants due to the cost of overseas shipping.
• This is an “on-your-honor” competition——be careful to list only birds that you
have positively identified.
• Do not include bird species observed at zoos, pet stores, aviaries or the like. Please limit observations to the outdoor world.
• The Bird Search begins on Friday, May 16 at 6:00 P.M. local time and ends on Saturday, May 17 at 6:00 P.M. local time.
• Registration is free through April 15, 2014.
• Registration April 16 through May 15 is $10.00.

We encourage individuals and families to join us in searching for the avian treasures our Lord Jesus has hidden away in nature!
We also urge individuals and families to get together on the evening of May 24 to share their discoveries with one another and watch Illustra Media’s new DVD “Flight: The Genius of Birds.” Group discussion materials will be provided upon request.
